America's Warrior Partnership

Our Director of Community Integration, Kaitlin Cashwell, has spent the last few days in D.C. - check out what she has been up to in her own words!Always a pleasure working in DC. On Friday I attended the Military to Civilian Transition Summit 4.0 hosted by the VA where I was able to hear from and work closely with VA, DoD, Department of Labor and other veteran serving organization representatives to explore real transition concerns and provide practical ways to set veterans up for success post-service. During the event, representatives from the VA discussed improvements they are making together with the DoD and DOL to improve transition for veterans including extending the process 365 days post-service. Today I was able to visit the Eisenhower Executive Office building and hear from the PREVENTS Task Force on the progress being made and plans moving forward to empower veterans and end veteran suicide. Prevention starts with outreach and engagement to all veterans and building a trusted relationship. It all starts at the community level. America's Warrior Partnership ... See MoreSee Less
