Alaska Warrior Partnership (AKWP) has been working hard with other veteran-serving organizations in the community to strengthen our partnerships and expand our reach. AKWP began hosting monthly partnership meetings this year with the goal of increasing the quality of life for veterans, their families, and caregivers across Alaska.
In June, AKWP hosted our first Southern Kenai Peninsula meeting with a large group of community members and organizations. Thanks to the Homer Foundation's support, we collaborated with a more diverse and expansive variety of local organizations that would otherwise be out of reach. This meeting brought these groups together to share ideas and ways to support one another to empower veterans in their communities.
AKWP also held our Central Alaska monthly partnership meeting, where the group of veteran-serving individuals visited the Southcentral Therapeutic Riding Inc. (STRIDE), to learn how STRIDE serves Alaskan heroes at their location in Wasilla.
We are excited to continue growing our network of partners to empower more Alaskan veterans. Alaska is stronger when our veterans are stronger.
