Service Through Solidarity: Veterans Helping Veterans

Every year, Jerry Krauser* and his coworkers seek out an organization where they can volunteer and give back to the community. This year, they chose to focus their efforts on supporting fellow veterans. Looking for the right opportunity, Jerry reached out to Indy Warrior Partnership (IWP), knowing that we have significant ties to many direct service organizations in the Indy community.

Ever wondered what $10 could do? It can save the lives of veterans like the one you're reading about in this story. Donate $10 a month and help us reach veterans before a crisis occurs. Together, we can do better. Our veterans deserve better.

The IWP team referred Jerry and his team to several veteran-serving organizations, ultimately leading them to HVAF, which provides housing and services for homeless veterans. Jerry and his coworkers, all veterans themselves, found an opportunity to volunteer by offering cleaning services to HVAF's facilities.

This act of veterans giving back to the veteran community is a powerful example of how shared experiences and a commitment to service can unite and uplift those who have served. Through IWP's connections, Jerry and his team are making a tangible difference, ensuring that those who have sacrificed for our country receive the care and support they deserve.
